Sodastream South Africa walked away with two coveted Gold and Bronze awards at the 2011 PRISM Awards for its “Goodbye bottles, hello Sodastream” campaign.

The awards, hosted at the Vineyard Hotel in Cape Town on Thursday 24 March by the Public Relations Institute of Southern Africa, recognise excellence in public relations and communication management and are the pre-eminent accolade for communications practise in South Africa.

Sodastream and its communication partner, Ogilvy PR Cape Town, won Gold in the “Media Relations” category for its environmental campaign which used a full spectrum of PR channels to position the brand as innovative and environmentally-conscious.  Sodastream was up against the likes of Marcus Brewster, Atmosphere Communications, PR Worx and the City of Cape Town Communications in this category.

Sodastream also won a Bronze in the category “Public Relations on a Shoestring Budget”.  Other PR firms winning bronze in this category included Magna Carta for the “Build-a-Bear Workshop Soccer Fever Campaign”, PR Worx for “John Travolta Supports Qantas Socceroos” and Greater Than’s “The Pedigree® Ahound South Africa Tour”.

The team from Ogilvy PR Cape Town responsible for the Sodastream success include Amelia-May Woudstra (Account Manager) and Roline Bosch (Account Executive), whom are led by PR Executive Director, Sandy Dobrin.

Ogilvy Public Relations group excelled for the second year in a row, with a total of 13 trophies including three Gold, five Silver and five Bronze awards across the Cape Town and Johannesburg offices awarded.
